The yearly camping event you've all been waiting for is back!
As part of our efforts to improve this event year after year, the traditional treasure hunt has been upgraded to a GPS Treasure Hunt around Valletta! In addition to this, a game of laser tag in Buskett is also being offered, should you wish to opt for it. The price for this event is €30 and includes: - use of the Bahar ic-Caghaq Campsite; - the GPS Treasure Hunt around Valletta; - all food and beverages for the BBQ and breakfast; - a packed lunch for the Treasure Hunt and; - a bottle of alcohol and a mixer of your choice (to be split between four attendees). The game of laser tag in Buskett on Sunday 14th December is OPTIONAL and comes at an additional cost of €10. The price of €30 does NOT include tents or sleeping bags. Tents and lights can be rented from the Mosta Scout Group by contacting Mr. Edward Vella on 79707924 or via e-mail at edvella@maltanet.net Two or four-men tents can be rented at €5 per person and lights can be rented at €5 each. Each tent comes with a €20 deposit. Deadline for applications and payment is Friday 5th December 2014!

The Science Student’s Society, together with the Faculty of Science are once again proud to present "The Annual Science Gathering”!
This year we will meet on the 21st November in the the KSU Common Room at 19:30. This event aims at bringing both staff as well as student from the faculty of science closer together, through an informal reception including food and beverages. Invites shall soon be available from any S-Cubed executive member, at the price of 5 euros* which include free flowing wine, beer and food. This year, S-Cubed is organising industrial site visits! These site visits are aimed at helping students obtain first-hand information about possible job opportunities and also, exposing students to the job environment in industry. S-Cubed believes that as a student organisation, it is important to show students what they can do after they finish their years at University.
The first industrial site visit will be in Core Laboratories: Saybolt! Saybolt focuses on crude oil and its derived products. Saybolt services the energy industry with laboratory analyses, independent field inspections as well as monitoring and verification programs. Core Laboratories: Saybolt Saybolt is opening its doors for 3 site visits on December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th . Each visit will accommodate only 5 students. Hence, this event is on a first come first serve basis! So book a place on the attached Google form below as soon as possible to avoid disappointment! The aim of this competition is for participating teams to come up with the most creative and useful item that can be made out of things that would otherwise be thrown away. Teams will be given 30 minutes to come up with their invention which will be presented to a panel of judges who will decide the winner. This competition will be part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) and will aim to promote recycling of waste in everyday life.
