This is a seminar focusing on the value the environment has for both the individual and
the society from a scientific point of view. Talks held by professionals in the field will
show that the environment can and must be protected and conserved-for the
sustainable maintenance of the present and future generations of our species and others
sharing the planet with us. The outstanding beauty of our surroundings may sometimes
go unnoticed but through our collective education we can start to appreciate our natural
heritage. This is what this seminar will try to achieve.
